Fox Digital Consumer Group (DCG) is a strategic business unit within Fox Networks Group (FNG). The group’s focus is the development of TV and long-form, video-centric products that bring Fox’s content to more consumers. This includes the continued innovation of Fox’s existing TV Everywhere products, including FXNOW, FOX NOW, Nat Geo TV and Fox Sports Go, as well as the creation of brand-new consumer propositions.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The FOX Networks Digital Consumer Group Live Stream Technical QA Analyst helps ensure that local FBC stations have outstanding live streaming experiences for their digital viewers. This Technical QA Analyst will be responsible for observing stream behavior, analyzing upstream systems for cause and effect on live streams, and reporting defects from FOX affiliate station streams.


Responsibilities
PERFORM ANALYSIS OF LIVE STREAMS FOR FOX BROADCASTING AFFILIATES – 85 %
● Perform analysis on the systems involved in producing FOX affiliate live streams
● Ensure that any issues detrimental to stream delivery to client applications are properly documented for engineering teams
● Routinely verify the accuracy of automated testing performed on streams
● Understand and confirm the quality of metadata associated to the streaming assets created
● Able to find issues by reviewing server logs related to live streams
● Track bugs from initial reporting through to verification and resolution
● Responsible for quality, accurate, and timely responses on tickets, email and instant messaging communications
● Participate in bug triage and prioritization meetings
DOCUMENTATION – 10%
● Document and maintain QA test cases
● Bug logs, issue ticketing, test scripts, daily status reports and weekly summaries
● Maintains list of stations tested with links to issues recorded for those stations
● Organizes documentation to enable easy search and collaboration
● Uses high attention to detail to ensure quality of documentation
OTHER DUTIES AS REQUIRED – 5%
Qualifications
Bachelor’s of Science/Bachelors of Art or experience equivalence


KNOWLEDGE:
● Quality assurance/control methodologies and best practices
● Familiarity with video streaming standards (HLS), and stream analysis tools
● Knowledge of digital video applications
● Experience with digital live streams
● Technical background
● Knowledge of Entertainment industry business practices a plus

SKILLS:
● Excellent written and oral communication skills
● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
● Attention to detail in performing analysis and logging issues
● Ability to capture logs from a variety of streaming application clients
● Proficient with server-side log query tools is preferred
