JOB DESCRIPTION

Keeping up with soaring customer expectations can be challenging for most leaders. But it will be fun if you have the proven leadership necessary to support the Manager of our Network Management Control Center. The position is located in The Woodlands, Texas and you can play a vital role as a Supervisor in this dynamic department if you have a high-energy mind-set, the skills, and experiences to implement best practices in managing people. 

We are continually striving to enhance our clients as well as our employees’ experiences.  Your responsibility will be to develop and oversee a high-performing team of engineering technicians who can enjoy their time working for a great company.

Having the passion to make a difference while in a management role is absolutely key.  This includes -

  • PRIORITY #1:  Leading, motivating, and developing a team of experienced and smart employees who are responsible for satellite distribution and black-out switching of regional sports events’ programming. This supervisory position must drive change with a sense of urgency as the department evolves. We not only want an out-of-the-box thinker, but we need a no box thinker who can make a positive impact.
  • Demonstrating credibility by providing technical assistance and training staff.  Communicating information to others in technical support and management teams internal and external are paramount. The right candidate will take the lead in developing and administering a formal training program for new hires and others as technology or processes change. Having experience in developing testing competency programs is important to ensure employees understand and can perform their roles with ease.   

  • Implementing fun and enjoyment into the department.  What does this entail?  Supporting innovative ideas and soliciting input from employees which will make everyone’s life better and more balanced; being fair; encouraging and providing opportunities for professional growth, and promoting diversity and inclusion.  Did we mention: Recognizing and rewarding outstanding work from your team….that too!

Must Haves: 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Three or more years as a supervisor

Even better if you also have:

  • Two or more years of experience in an engineering or a technical environment.
  • Understanding of broadcast technologies including transmitters, switchers and routing systems. 
  • Experience in interviewing candidates.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.  Knowledge of Jira tracking software.
  • Proven planning and organization skills in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership (which includes training and development as well as performance management and scheduling skills in prior roles).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Knows how to write business letters, performance evaluations, and able to conduct/present analysis of varying data.   
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and strategic thinking ability.  Can make good decisions under pressure. 
  • Known to balance multiple projects with varying priorities.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule in support of 24/7/365 day operations.
