The Big Ten Network (BTN) is searching for a Programming Coordinator to join their team in Chicago. The position is responsible for the creation and distribution of the BTN programming schedule and BTN streaming schedule. The Coordinator will serve as the Standards and Practices liaison for the BTN and will be responsible for assigning V-Chip ratings to all original programming.


  • Assist in creating BTN programming schedule - generates BTN schedule changes and communicate to internal staff and external partners
  • Assist in maintaining, and updating BTN streaming schedule - communicates schedules with Big Ten Universities and internal staff and update associated streaming files internally
  • Watch and V-Chip rate all BTN original programming - watch and approve necessary BTN and FOX promotional spots
  • Assist in entering all Big Ten sports schedules into master database and update as necessary
  • Write and distribute descriptions to internal and external partners for all shows and events
  • Assist with football game-day operations
  • Conduct research for future programming initiatives
  • Perform general administrative duties; processing invoices, shipping packages, filing, etc.


  • 4-year degree preferred with an emphasis in Radio/TV/Film, Communications, Broadcasting or Business
  • A strong passion for Big Ten sports and experience in television or sports is helpful
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills needed - problem solving skills are necessary
  • Outstanding verbal, written communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills are required
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet strict deadlines, and strong analytical skills are must haves
  • Must demonstrate the ability to adapt to a frequently changing environment
