JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for the strategic trafficking of on-air promotional spots and in-game “drop-in” promotions for the FOX Sports regional networks in the Southeast collectively reaching more than 11 million cable and satellite households in seven states – FOX Sports South, FOX Sports Tennessee, FOX Sports Carolinas and FOX Sports Southeast.  Combined, the network televise more than 2600 live events and studio shows annually.

Fills logs according to regional and national marketing initiatives with minimal supervision. The promotional spots will primarily be placed within live sporting events across the networks, including the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Hawks, Atlanta Dream, Atlanta United, Memphis Grizzlies, Nashville Predators, Carolina Hurricanes, Charlotte Hornets, and the ACC.

In addition, generate the planning and production commissioning of monthly spot inventory needed to meet the promotional goals of FOX Sports South. Monitor network air and write discrepancy reports to ensure the promotional plan and the overall presentation of the network are executed in line with national and regional marketing priorities. Work daily with on-air promotions producers to ensure accuracy and quality control of promo spots before sending to air.

Responsibilities

  • Have a clear understanding of the regional and national programming priorities as put forth by management at all times. Using this knowledge, optimize the promotional media inventory by strategically scheduling spots to air within live event programming (of most importance) and within “run of schedule” programming windows. In addition, ensure that the promo spot messages are frequent, relevant, and targeted at all times.
  • Also in line with regional/national priorities, schedule corresponding in-game drop-in promotional elements (i.e., lower thirds, elevators, and corresponding copy) for all live events where inventory is available. Work closely with game producers to ensure all elements are executed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Based on the schedules for promotional media inventory and drop-in elements, in a timely manner commission all creative elements to be produced (3-4 weeks prior to air), giving the producers enough time to generate spots. Ensure that all spots are ingested by Master Control in a timely manner, to ultimately air during their respective flights.
  • Monitor air and discrepancy reports to ensure specific promo placement for logged and drop-in promos are airing as scheduled.
  • Supply reports for daily promo log contingencies, daily squeeze-back promotion, day-of-air log changes (as needed), weekly topical inventory, and monthly cross-promotion totals as requested.

Qualifications

  • College degree mandatory
  • Must have 3-5 years experience in network and/or cable industry
  • Preferred experience in on-air promotions scheduling or commercial trafficking
  • Proficiency of Wide Orbit is helpful but not mandatory.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is critical and must be adhered to at all times.
  • Ability to adhere to strict deadlines and complete work assignments in a timely manner
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must.
  • Must be a good problem solver and be able to work under time-sensitive situations.
