The Systems Technical Coordinator’s primary responsibility is purchasing process support and technical project management. The Systems department staff contributes their expertise to a wide range of maintenance, integration, optimization, and problem resolution tasks. The Technical Coordinator reports to the Head of Systems and works closely with the Help Desk Coordinator and Systems department staff on daily tasks, project assignments and priorities.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Systems department purchasing: documenting technical requirements; submitting requirements for quote; creating and processing purchase orders; working with accounts payable to ensure timely payments.  

  • Managing hardware and software maintenance agreements and warranties. Maintaining the vendor database. 

  • Maintaining physical inventories for hardware, software, and consumables. 

  • Project plans, status updates and reporting. 

  • Weekly and monthly reports.

  • Other projects, and duties as may be required or assigned.

  • Scheduling meetings and conferences, including travel arrangements.

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Help Desk ticket assignment and escalation.


Technical Skills

  • Experience with Google Suite, Microsoft Office and a purchasing and reporting application is required. Experience with Adobe applications is a plus.

  • Working knowledge of Atlassian Confluence and Jira or similar documentation and ticketing solutions. Experience with Jira workflows is a plus.

  • Experience with database inventory systems.

  • Experience with hardware and software technology and terminology.

General Skills and Abilities

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.   

  • Managing complex technology projects, including documenting requirements and status reporting. The ability to communicate with technical administration staff.

  • The technical aptitude (indicated on resume and supported by technical references) to deliver comprehensive technical support in a production environment. 

  • Ability to relate to and communicate with all levels of employees and the ability to maintain perspective and a sense of humor under pressure.

  • Thorough record keeping and documentation skills, including technical documentation of processes; documenting code; inventory, project, task, and time tracking.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to communicate effectively and accurately with management, systems administration team members, customers and vendors is a core job responsibility. 

  • A proven track record for managing multiple projects, priorities and tasks.

  • Process oriented, but flexible around business needs.

  • Serve as a representative of Blue Sky Studios, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, teamwork and discretion in all interactions with other members of the Studio.


  • College degree with a focus on technology, or commensurate experience in a university or business environment.

  • 1-3 years or the equivalent experience in a position that required self-directed coordination work, accurate data entry and reporting

Working Conditions and Environment/Physical Demands 

  • The Systems department provides 24/7 support for some production critical systems. Flexible working hours are required, including occasional early mornings, late evenings and weekends.  

  • Some systems maintenance is scheduled for early morning, evening or weekend hours. 

  • Walking, bending, sitting and lifting up to 50lbs is required on a regular basis. 

  • Office working environment.
