JOB DESCRIPTION

The Coordinator of Multiplatform Programming & Distribution will play a key role in setting up National Geographic Channel and Nat Geo WILD for success across all non-linear platforms, including VOD, TV Everywhere, Disney+, Hulu, EST, and Home Entertainment. The key responsibility of this team member will be to maintain the integrity of episodic and series-level metadata in our content managements systems (including VPS, MPX, and the VOD portal). This person will regularly interface with internal teams to determine content availability and ensure asset preparation, operations and delivery goes as planned.

Responsibilities:

  • Enter and maintain integrity of metadata for all programs on NGC, WILD, and Disney+ so they may be scheduled on all non-linear platforms, including VOD, TV Everywhere, Disney+, Hulu, EST, and Home Entertainment. Increased ease in non-linear scheduling workflow, boosting viewership on all platforms to increase non-linear revenue generation.
  • Create and distribute folder requests for VOD, manage artwork requests in ONYX, assign season numbers in VPS, edit and create series and episodes in the VOD portal, manage rights confirmation requests and tracking, enter in the metadata for each episode weekly, send updates to CMC (Comcast Media Cloud) weekly, send MDUs and artwork as needed, assist in systems QC and testing, attend trainings on new systems, etc.  Ensure smooth workflow for non-linear success.
  • Assist Senior Coordinator with QC (quality control), checking that programming across platforms appears when and how it is expected per strategy directives. Minimize errors, increased viewership and revenue.
  • Assist in developing existing and new non-linear products. Keep pace with the industry and ensure product development aligns with NG business needs.
  • Assist with non-linear competitive landscape research. Ensure National Geographic stays at the forefront of developing non-linear trends.
  • Assist with ad sales partnerships team to operationalize partner-funded programs on non-linear platforms. Maximize revenue generation potential on non-linear platforms.
  • Contribute to non-linear strategy brainstorms and discussions.
  • Additional Home Entertainment tasks may be required.
  • Ad Hoc tasks.

Requirements:

  • An undergraduate degree is required.
  • Experience in a data-driven strategy role or entertainment industry is preferred.
  • Ability to travel 10%.
  • Demonstrated interest in media business. and strong passion for the industry.
  • General understanding of streaming platforms and devices.
  • Intermediate data analysis and critical thinking skills is required.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Attention to detail is of paramount importance.
